Albert enlisted in the Royal Irish Constabulary on 15th Feb 1921. His RIC number was 78723 and his record shows that he was 5 ft 7.5", a clerk and ex-soldier, and a protestant. He was recommended to serve by RO Liverpool (?) and he was allocated to Gormanston.
On the 5th of May 1922, he was disbanded. The record gives the following details (the meaning of which I don't understand!):
