Note on Wife: Mary Teevin

In 1871, she was still living at home with her parents, and was working as a cotton printfield worker.

 

Mary had an illegitimate child in 1883 when working as a housekeeper in Lennoxtown, Stirling. He died at 9 weeks old from natural causes, the death certificate being signed by Mary's father Richard. She was at that point a domestic servant and still in Lennoxtown.

 

By 1886 when she married Robert Renwick, she was staying at the same address as him, namely 11 Eglinton St, Glasgow. They married by the Church of Scotland. Robert was already a widower.

 

In 1891 she and her family were living at 151 New Logans Rows, Motherwell with her brother Thomas, who was 20 and still unmarried. Her hsbad and brother were both coal miners.

 

Signed her father's death certificate in 1892, when she was living at 149 Logans Place, Motherwell.
