Note on Wife: Margaret Teevan
In 1860, Margaret was a cotton factory worker and lodging in 53 Commercial Road, Govan. In her lodgings, she gave birth to an illigitimate set of twins.
Bartholomew must have denied that they were his, for she had to go to court to prove the paternity.
In 1861, Margaret was lodging with the O'Donnell family in Commercial Road, Govan with her son Thomas. She was at that point a prim winder in a cotton factory.
Both she and Bartholomew were living in Commercial Road, and the Sheriff Substitute of Glasgow found in favour of Margaret on the 8th of July 1862. In other words, Bartholomew was legally found to be the father.
However he almost immediately left for England [see details of Poor Law record under Margaret's father].
She and Lazzaro both lived at 210 High Street, Glasgow when they were married.
