Note on Marriage

Family were from Butlersbridge, Cavan and owned a farm there. This was inherited through the line by the first-born son (i.e. James as the eldest son of Michael). Parts of it are still owned by the family today.

In 1871-4, Michael, Catherine and their children lived in Kilnaglare, Ballyhaise. Michael was a farmer.
