Note on Husband: Thomas Teevan
Thomas furthered his holdings when he leased land in Derryleague on Sept 25th, 1743, at an annual rate of twelve pounds five shillings. Eventually he split the family plot between two of his sons, Thomas and James; two other sons (namely John and Barnard) farmed at Drumullig and Kilnaglare, which are both near Butler's Bridge. All four of the sons' farm sites were within a few miles of each other .
Remnants of the old farm buildings are still evident. In 2003 part of the original Teevan land was being farmed by Patrick Lawlor (grandson of John Francis L. and Mary Teevan). There are traces of two houses only a few hundred yards apart, and nearby are the remains of a hill fort. Which ruin might have been occupied by Thomas the elder is not clear, but these were, at one time, the residences of the heirs for Thomas of Derryleague.
