MARRIAGES

In London, on the 28th ult., Michael TEEVAN, Esq., Surgeon of Glocester-road, Hyde Park, to Frances, only child and heiress of the late William WATTON, Esq., of Shirley and of Woodside, in the county of Surrey.

Michael's brother John witnessed the marriage, as did a Robert Simons. They were married by the Established Church.

The Scotsman newspaper dated 23 Oct 1852 published a list of Directors, auditors etc of the Deposit and General Life Assurance Company, 22 Moorgate Street, London. Michael Teevan Esq, MRCS was listed under the title "Surgeons", so he was presumably employed by the company as an expert witness. His address at the time was 44 Gloucester Road, Hyde Park Gardens.

A Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, in the 1871 census he was listed as 'not practising'. He was at that time living with his wife and children at 22 Kensington Crescent, Kensington, Chelsea, London. They had two domestic servants.
