Note on Marriage
His draft registration card for WWI in September 1918 states that he was born on the 22nd of July 1885. Years later, in his card for WWII, he listed his birthdate as 22 August 1890 - so his exact birthdate is unknown.
William was listed in the 1923 Cambridge directory as a rubberworker, married and staying at his parents' house at 85 Richdale Avenue.
In 1930, the family were renting a home for $40 in Belmont, Middlesex. William was a janitor.
Living in Belmont, Massachusetts in the 1940s, William's draft registration card for WWII shows that he was 5 ft 5.5". He had blue eyes, blonde hair and a light complexion.
