Note on Husband: George Francis Teevan
In 1851 George was lodging in Islington, Middlesex and working as a groom.
He was married in 1851 (to Mary Abel OR Jane Bunyan OR Martha Calcoon) but did not live with his wife for long.
In the 1861 census he appears with Caroline, who initially was written in as his wife but had this scored out. He was listed as married and she as unmarried - so it would appear that he had left his wife for her.
They were living in Tottenham Court, Middlesex in 1861. George was a polisher and Caroline a dressmaker.
Although I have not ordered the birth certificates for his children it is likely that they are Caroline's, given this strange arrangement.
By 1891, the children and wife (or otherwise) have disappeared. George lodged by himself in St Clement Danes, London near to his nephew Richard. He listed himself as single and was working as a cabinet finisher.
