Note on Marriage
When he was married, John was a fireman and Selma was a domestic. He said that he was 26 and his bride 30.
His death certificate puts his age at 28, though if his marriage details were correct he would have been 38. This may mean either that he was much younger when he was married and that he tried to cover up the gap in ages between him and Selma, or may simply be because his death was rather mysterious.
His usual residence at the time of his death was 350 Lenox Steet, Boston. The place of death was named as Canton, Massachusetts although the date of death was unknown - the informant was Elizabeth Gallagher and the cause was "contused wound of the head, exposure to probable cold and drowning".
