Note on Marriage

She was born Mary, in Boston. Later records call her Mabel and say she was born in Rhode Island.

In 1900, Mabel was living with her husband and children in Pawtucket, Providence, Rhode Island. Her husband Geroge was a "jobber jeweller" and their home was rented. Her mother was living with them, as was an uncle - Fred Teevens born June 1885 in Rhode Island (his parents were English).

Although there were six Dunham children in 1900, Mabel was said to only have two children, both of whom were living. So only two of those in the census should be Mabel's - presumably the last two. Yet Mabel was also stated to have been married to George for 18 years, and they were all born after that date.

By 1910, Mabel had given birth to three chilren, though only two were living. She and George were staying at Attleborough, Bristol Massachusetts, and her brother Fred's family lived with them. George was now described as a bench hand in a jewellery shop, which basically means a "jobber" as before. He would have repaired or customized items at a customer's request. However by this point, he did own his own home.

Note on Husband: George A Denham

His parents were both from Rhode Island.
