Note on Marriage

In 1901, the family were staying in Lindsay, Victoria.

In 1917, Thomas was mentioned as his son Arthur's next-of-kin. The records show the family as staying at 35 Gelelg Street, Richmond, Ontario.

Note on Husband: Thomas Stinton Teevin

One researcher told me Thomas was the eldest child of James Teevin and Mary Hutton. The Thomas who married Emma McColl said he was born on 21 May 1866 in Ontario.

Thomas Stinton Teevin who was James and Mary's son was James' eldest, and born 1 Jul 1853 in Lindsay, Victoria, Ontario. He was a farmer and died after 1897.

I believe they are the same man; and that he simply shaved years from his age when he emigrated and married a much younger woman.

The age on his death certificate would have him born in 1847, before his parents were married. His parents were listed as James and Margaret Teevins.
